MENTAGRAPH Inc. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; a wholly owned consolidated subsidiary of JT) has rolled out a major update to the dedicated app for its speed-rest eye mask "Relaxonic Cover," launching a new feature called "Refresh Score" that turns the change before and after rest into a score, available from August 25, 2026.
Until now, the tangible sense of rest could only be gauged through subjective impressions such as "I feel somewhat rested." This feature visualizes it through facial analysis using a smartphone camera. In tandem, the app UI has been completely overhauled and redesigned so that users can begin resting in the fewest possible steps.
The product combines sound containing ultra-high-frequency components inaudible to the human ear (Hypersonic) with a warming function that gently heats the area around the eyes (40–42°C), delivering a designed experience that lets users switch into comfortable rest in as little as 5 to 20 minutes.
In addition to a fit shape derived from large-scale facial-shape data and the use of premium cushioning materials, its outstanding design and experience design have been highly acclaimed, earning the internationally prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2026.
What Is the New "Refresh Score" Feature?
Did you truly refresh yourself over the course of your rest? Until now, you had no choice but to rely on subjective impressions like "Maybe I feel a little better?"
The new "Refresh Score*" feature analyzes facial images captured by a smartphone camera using a proprietary algorithm and expresses your degree of refreshment as a score. This feature makes it possible to see the change before and after rest in a visible form.
Furthermore, by calculating the Refresh Score continuously over several days at the same time of day, users can review their scores in a way tailored to their own personal baseline. This makes it possible to grasp how one's level of refreshment differs from usual, creating opportunities to adjust rest to suit one's state at any given moment—for example, "I should prioritize rest a little more right now"—and helping to realize a rest experience personalized to each individual.

A Full Redesign of the App
So that users can rest smoothly and without confusion, we rebuilt every screen of the app from the ground up in a complete redesign.
